MacComedy discovers suggested iPod slogans which ultimately lost to “1000 songs in your pocket.”

1000 songs in your pocket.

That’s the slogan that the public has heard over, and over, and over, and over again, describing Apple’s iPod MP3 player and portable hard drive.

However, there was a long list of other slogans for the iPod that never made it. Once again, MacComedy sent out spies to retrieve this information. Several died in the process. Here are the lost slogans those spies gave their lives for:

  • 1000 songs in your pants.
  • 1000 songs next to your shank.
  • 10,000 really short songs in your pocket.
  • 5 gigs of porn in your pocket.
  • Now there’s something else in your pocket to play with.
  • Portable Breakout. Only $399.
  • Your CD player sucks.
  • If it were any cooler, we’d call it icePod.
  • A revolution in your pocket.
  • Remember Polly Pocket? This is better.
  • Another reason the Mac kicks your nuts.
  • The only thing this small that costs this much is crack.
  • If you have five pockets, you could carry five of these things.
  • Hey, if Moby, Seal, and Smashmouth like it, why can’t you?
  • If you stacked on top of each other all the CDs that can fit on this thing, then damn, that’s a lot of CDs.
  • No one owns this many songs legally.
  • Copy its design and we’ll sue you.
  • It gets kinda warm. It goes in your pocket. Yeah, you know what we’re saying!
  • Please wear gloves when handling.
  • That’s the bottom line cuz Steve Jobs says so.
  • Nomad who?
  • Orgasmic.
